The Brazilian Butt Lift Miami procedure, also known as butt augmentation, or “BBL surgery", is a surgical procedure that aims to enhance the size of the buttocks to achieve an enhanced and voluptuous appearance. Within this article, we will touch upon the commonly asked questions for a butt lift, the benefits of this procedure, ideal candidates for this surgery, best plastic surgeons specializing in BBL, the Brazilian Butt Lift cost and so much more about this highly popular procedure!
The Brazilian Butt Lift is a surgical procedure which aims to:
This procedure involves fat elimination through liposuction from several areas of the body such as the hips, abdomen, back and thighs. During the liposuction, the Plastic Surgeon will make minimal incisions and extract only the smallest fat particles using a small tool called a cannula. Doctors have found that the most effective fat grafts are made using smaller fat particles. During this same step, the doctor begins the contour process to create the desire figure.
After the liposuction, the fat cells are processed and purified through centrifugation (intensified spinning). The best and most pure fat cells are separated and used for reinjection into the buttocks. It is common for only ¼ of the fat cells to be utilized for reinjection. Most doctors like to perform liposuction on at least two or three major areas in order to collect enough fat. Our Brazilian Butt Lift doctors remove the fat cells, purify the tissues, and then re-inject only the best cells into the subcutaneous space of the buttocks.
Jolie Plastic Surgery follows the appropriate Standard of Care for Gluteal Fat Grafting. Therefore, fat is only injected into the subcutaneous space and it’s never injected into the intramuscular or submuscular regions.
Determining the amount of fat that will be transferred to the buttocks during a BBL is based on several factors:
In a nut shell, the amount of fat that can be transferred is based on the amount of fat available for harvesting and the flexibility of the recipient site to accommodate it. Typically, surgeons can inject anywhere from 300cc to 600 cc per side depending on the shape the patient desires and the results of the physical examination prior to surgery.
For safety reasons, it’s recommended that patients have a BMI of 30 or less, especially when it comes to a Brazilian buttock lift. It’s possible that some patients are suitable for surgery above 30 after the surgeon has evaluated the patient to determine which areas can undergo surgery. However, a patient over 30 is considered getting into the obese range. Some patients may be advised to lose a little bit of weight to reduce the risk of complications. Yet the BMI is not the most important factor to consider but rather the availability of fat and quality of the patient’s skin.
At Jolie Plastic Surgery, our surgeons recommend the following maximum BMI:
Local and out-of-town patients don’t need to look far to see that fuller buttocks are in. Diet and exercising alone can only do so much. Allow our surgeons reshape your body in a way that aligns with your ideal body type by using innovative techniques that give you the best results possible. Jolie plastic surgeons such as Dr. Fisher and Dr. Hasan have decades of experience crafting impressive results.

Likewise, Dr.Hasan is an illustrious and televised surgeon whose revolutionary advancements in trans-umbilical breast augmentation and scientific research endeavors have not only provided him with a solid reputation, but also helped him have a better understanding of his patient needs and achieve optimal and long-lasting results for them.
The ideal candidate for the BBL surgery are individuals who wish to enhance the size of their buttocks but, have a significant amount of fat in covering different areas of their body such as the abdomen, waist, hips, and lower back. One of the board certified plastic surgeons at Jolie Plastic Surgery expands on factors an ideal candidate must have for the fat transfer procedure by stating:
“The ideal patient for a fat transfer is someone who has a fair amount of body fat. The body fat should also be in the areas where we want to take out the fat; therefore, it should be in the stomach, flank area (which is the waist), and a lot of times we take out fat from the stubborn “bra rolls" (back area)."
It is also important that the patient be in good health standing and have realistic goals and expectations from the procedure. Patients will have to dedicate a few weeks for the recovery period after the procedure is complete. They must be willing to understand that not every patient will have the same butt augmentation result. Therefore, it is important to compare before and after photos of Buttock Lift procedures with fat transfer only if the patients has a similar body type.
The BBL surgery not only enhances the buttocks, but it can also improve the overall contour of different areas of the body through liposuction. Most patients choose to have liposuction on the most troubling areas such as the abdomen, hips, back and thighs. Removing fat from these areas immediately reshapes the body creating an hourglass figure. Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Fisher of expands on the benefits of the fat transfer procedure by stating:
“One of the most exciting procedures we perform is the fat transfer. We take fat from elsewhere on the body and we transfer it to another place in the body. The most common places where we transfer fat is to the face, and even more popular in South Florida is transferring it to the buttocks to create a fuller figure look. For the vast majority of patients, fat transfer is the best option. Not only does it provide a full body liposuction, which already helps contour the body, but it provides a secondary effect (double effect) because we’re taking off fat from one location and placing the fat in another location that the results are very, very dramatic."

The Brazilian Butt Lift Miami is also not as invasive as a butt enhancement through the use of implants, meaning a shorter recovery period for patients who undergo this procedure. The incisions made throughout the fat transfer procedure are small and cause nearly invisible scars. However, the incisions made for a butt implants must be greater in length.
This procedure utilizes a person’s own body fat leading to less complication and a more natural result. Unfortunately, it must be from the patient’s own body fat and cannot come through a third-party donor. This differs highly from butt implants where a foreign object such as an implant in place within the patient’s buttocks. This creates a possibility of the butt implant leaking or shifting which may lead to an unnatural butt appearance.
During your initial consultation, the doctors will properly evaluate you in determining if you an ideal candidate for this procedure. After the evaluation, they will discuss what bbl technique best suits your body composition. Together with what is possible and your desires, together, you will decide what results you would like from the procedure. During your pre-op appointment, your surgeon will also provide a list of medications and items you will need for your surgery.
It is important for patients to follow all instructions provided by the doctor in order to have a successful surgery without complications. At least a month before the scheduled surgery date, patients must stop consumptions of
Before your surgery, you should gather these items and be ready. Some of these items include loose clothing, ice packs, stool softeners, bandages, pain medication and healthy foods and drinks.
Just like most other surgical procedures, there are complications and risks that are involved with the Brazilian Butt Lift. Because this procedure involves a fat transfer and liposuction to achieve a more attractive and youthful look, both of these techniques have their own set of risks including asymmetry, hematoma, infection, embolism, overcorrection, prolonged swelling, fat necrosis, under-correction, and nerve damage
Even though there is a possibility for deep vein thrombosis subsequently following the operation, this rarely occurs. All potential side effects from this procedure can be efficiently treated through proper instruction follow through and medication for pain management. The best way to avoid these complications is following your surgeon’s orders. You should avoid blood thinners, stop smoking, stay hydrated, stop drinking alcohol and arrange for care.
There are several BBL techniques available depending on the patient’s wants and needs. Every surgeon has his/her specialty and may recommend a certain technique based on their experience and your goals. Listed below are some of the most common techniques available at Jolie Plastic Surgery.
This technique is one of the most modernized and improved variations of the Brazilian Butt Lift Miami. It involves a small incision that runs down the natural crevasse of the buttocks that can be easily hidden. The size of the incision depends on the amount of fat that was extracted and the fullness of the inner fold. This technique has the ability to augment, enhance, and create a more contoured attractive figure. Fat is re-injected into the buttocks to increase volume and into the lower hips to create curvature.
The Butterfly BBL technique aims to target a lack of volume and fat tissue in the upper regions of the buttocks. It is called the butterfly lift because just as a butterfly opens its wings to display bigger wings on the top, the higher wings protrude more so than the lower wings. Therefore this specially formulate butt augmentation procedure aims to augment the buttocks higher portions leading to a more proportionate butt appearance.
The inner and posterior lift is most effective among individuals who have lost a significant amount of weight. The incision for this technique is made along the inner groin allowing the scar to be much less visible. With this incision, the surgeon has the ability to remove excess skin from the outer and inner leg.
The C-Lift technique combines the Miami thong lift, the posterior leg lift, and the tightening of the buttocks. The surgeon will create an incision in the “C-shape" in order to lift the outer and upper buttocks. Many patients that have experienced significant weight loss are the best candidates for this procedure.
“Actually, the fat transfer results are durable. About eighty to ninety percent of the fat survives." –Dr. Fisher
The results of this procedure last a lifetime. Once the fat tissues are redistributed to the buttocks, they will act as if they were originally there. Therefore, if a patient were to lose weight after the procedure, the buttocks will also get smaller, but at the same rate as the rest of the body. This means you will steal keep your post-op shape. If a patient were to gain weight, the buttocks will also get bigger with the rest of the body. This is why it is very important to have a normal workout routine and maintain and healthy diet.

Bruising and swelling are expected and normal for the first six week after a BBL surgery. Wearing all compression garments given is absolutely necessary. These garments help lower the risk of fluid buildup and reduce swelling. They must be worn 24 hours a day every day until the doctor advises.
Sitting down must be avoided for at least two to three weeks after the procedure. Sitting can cause the fat cells to move and become deformed. Therefore, it is important to treat this area with extra care. If sitting is necessary, patients should only sit on an extremely soft and cushioned pillow.
Some patients are given drainage tubes if the surgeon believes he/she may be at risk for fluid buildup after the procedure. It is essential to go to all follow up appointments to make sure the healing process is smooth and there is no fluid buildup.
